Eastern Region Celebrates 100 years of PJ Hegarty

We gathered at the Guinness Storehouse on September 4th to celebrate 100 years of PJ Hegarty with the people who make it all possible, our incredible staff.

A heartfelt thank you to every member of our team for your tireless efforts and dedication over the years. We couldn’t do it without you.

On the night, the staff at the Guinness Storehouse looked after us with their incredible hospitality. We listened to Natalia on the saxophone, which set a fantastic tone for the night. This was followed by live music from Sunset Boulevard that kept the energy high into the early hours. Jamie Skelton also showcased his impressive magic skills, winning over even the biggest skeptics!

Here’s to continuing our journey for the next 100 years.

Momentum Games 2025

On September 5th, nine members of our team took part in the Momentum Games. The challenge saw the team take on various activities such as skiing, rowing, and biking stations, testing both endurance and teamwork. This competition supports the Dublin Simon Community, an organisation dedicated to helping those experiencing homelessness.

Well done to everyone who got involved and contributed to such a worthy cause!

100 Years of PJ Hegarty: Southern Region Celebrations

On August 29th, our Southern Region team came together at the Maryborough Hotel, Douglas, Cork, to celebrate PJ Hegarty’s 100 years in business.

We rolled out the orange carpet for a fantastic evening filled with laughter, trips down memory lane, and appreciation for the incredible people who make our success possible. A big thank you to all our colleagues who joined us in making this special night so enjoyable.

Here’s to 100 years, and to the people who make it all happen.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Annual Golf Classic

PJ Hegarty was proud to sponsor the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) Annual Golf Classic, which took place on July 10th at Douglas Golf Club. The event was a fantastic fundraiser, raising vital funds to support individuals and families in need across our communities.

We were especially grateful to our supply chain partners for their generous contributions and support. It was great to see so many familiar faces out on the course for an enjoyable day of golf in aid of a very worthy cause.

Celebrating Pride 2025

This year, we celebrated Pride with a coffee morning across our sites and offices. This allowed us to come together and celebrate being a part of a company that keeps diversity and inclusion at the heart of it’s culture.

As part of this, we’ve also distributed whiteboards, inviting everyone to pledge their respect and support for their colleagues and communities.

At PJ Hegarty, we’re proud to champion a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and free to be themselves, not just during Pride, but every day of the year.

Centenary Spinathon Challenge

On Wednesday, June 18th, eight PJ Hegarty sites across Ireland took part in our Centenary Spinathon Challenge.

The three-hour event saw four sites from both the Eastern and Southern regions go head to head, in support of two incredible causes.

The Southern Region spun for the Cork University Hospital Neonatal Unit, while the Eastern Region cycled for ASIAM, Ireland’s autism charity.

To keep the energy high, a live leader board tracked the progress of each site in real time, sparking some healthy rivalry as teams raced to rack up the kilometres. For every kilometre cycled, PJ Hegarty donated €10 to each region’s chosen charity. This along with the bragging rights gave the teams an extra push.

A huge well done to everyone who took part and supported this fantastic initiative!

Watch here:

Genevie Rose and Barry Casey presented the funds raised from the Southern Region Spinathon to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team at Cork University Hospital.

They were joined by members of the Neonatal Unit, including Midwife Miriam Casey, NICU Manager Grainne McNabola, and Consultant Dr. Mmoloki Kenosi, to officially hand over the donation.

Ronald McDonald House Charity Plane Pull

On Friday, June 13th,  PJ Hegarty proudly sponsored and participated in the Plane Pull Challenge for Ronald McDonald House Charity, in the Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel. Nineteen other teams joined us in pulling an Irish Air Corps plane, all in support of an incredible cause!

Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland, a local charity close to our hearts, provides vital support to families with seriously ill children when they need it most.

It was a brilliant day for a great cause, and our team thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, particularly the team-building aspect and the opportunity to come together.

Run in the Dark

Our Cork and Limerick teams joined over 3,000 runners in Cork City and 25,000 participants globally for Wednesday night’s ‘Run in the Dark’ event. We were delighted to participate in the event dedicated to curing paralysis within our lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who participated and the supporters cheering them on along the route!
