Society of St. Vincent de Paul Annual Golf Classic

PJ Hegarty was proud to sponsor the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) Annual Golf Classic, which took place on July 10th at Douglas Golf Club. The event was a fantastic fundraiser, raising vital funds to support individuals and families in need across our communities.

We were especially grateful to our supply chain partners for their generous contributions and support. It was great to see so many familiar faces out on the course for an enjoyable day of golf in aid of a very worthy cause.

Centenary Spinathon Challenge

On Wednesday, June 18th, eight PJ Hegarty sites across Ireland took part in our Centenary Spinathon Challenge.

The three-hour event saw four sites from both the Eastern and Southern regions go head to head, in support of two incredible causes.

The Southern Region spun for the Cork University Hospital Neonatal Unit, while the Eastern Region cycled for ASIAM, Ireland’s autism charity.

To keep the energy high, a live leader board tracked the progress of each site in real time, sparking some healthy rivalry as teams raced to rack up the kilometres. For every kilometre cycled, PJ Hegarty donated €10 to each region’s chosen charity. This along with the bragging rights gave the teams an extra push.

A huge well done to everyone who took part and supported this fantastic initiative!

Watch here:

Genevie Rose and Barry Casey presented the funds raised from the Southern Region Spinathon to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team at Cork University Hospital.

They were joined by members of the Neonatal Unit, including Midwife Miriam Casey, NICU Manager Grainne McNabola, and Consultant Dr. Mmoloki Kenosi, to officially hand over the donation.

Ronald McDonald House Charity Plane Pull

On Friday, June 13th,  PJ Hegarty proudly sponsored and participated in the Plane Pull Challenge for Ronald McDonald House Charity, in the Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel. Nineteen other teams joined us in pulling an Irish Air Corps plane, all in support of an incredible cause!

Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland, a local charity close to our hearts, provides vital support to families with seriously ill children when they need it most.

It was a brilliant day for a great cause, and our team thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, particularly the team-building aspect and the opportunity to come together.

PJ Hegarty take part in Darkness into Light 2025

On the morning of Friday May 9th, our project staff from city-centre sites participated in Pieta’s Darkness into Light Walk. They walked through the heart of Dublin City Centre during sunrise to raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. By participating in this event, we hope to help break mental health stigma and encourage those struggling to seek help and support.

Starting from our Ronan Group Real Estate Waterfront South Central project, the walk journeyed past our ongoing Treasury project and our completed IPUT Real Estate Dublin Tropical Fruit Warehouse and Sales Force Tower building. Finishing up at the docks, where they gathered to witness the sun rise over the River Liffey. Symbolising the journey that is taken coming out of a time of struggle in mental health. Darkness into light brings much-needed attention to mental health, we are proud to continuously support such an important cause.

Supporting Ronald McDonald Cooking for Families

Once again, we were delighted to take part in Ronald McDonald (RMHC) Cooking for families. A team of seven from PJ Hegarty stepped into the kitchen to prepare a homemade meal for the families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

RMHC is a local charity that provides support and care for the families of children that are ill. The house provides a place to stay and call home during what can be a incredibly difficult time. To sign up to the Cooking for Families programme or to donate go to: www.rmhc.ie

Giving Tree Initiative

This week, Genevieve Rose and Jim from our Southern Region office had the privilege of delivering the collection of toys, books, teddies, and vouchers donated to our Giving Tree to the wonderful staff at CUH Charity. 🎁

They were warmly welcomed by Rachel Griffin, Play Specialist, Claire Concannon from the CUH Charity and the fantastic nursing staff of the CUH Children’s Ward, who work tirelessly to care for sick children.

Our Giving Tree was a huge success, with over 80 gifts donated. These presents will bring joy to children spending Christmas in the hospital and will also be used to celebrate special occasions like birthdays and communions throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who contributed so generously.

Run in the Dark

Our Cork and Limerick teams joined over 3,000 runners in Cork City and 25,000 participants globally for Wednesday night’s ‘Run in the Dark’ event. We were delighted to participate in the event dedicated to curing paralysis within our lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who participated and the supporters cheering them on along the route!

RMHC Fire Truck Challenge

Friday was full of excitement as our team worked together to pull a 16-tonne vintage fire truck across the finish line at the RMHC Ireland Vintage Fire Truck Challenge!

PJ Hegarty was the proud sponsor of the event, and we truly embraced the motto – Together We Can Pull Through Anything!

Donations are still open to support this worthy cause: https://www.rmhc.ie/fundraising-events/vintage-fire-truck-pull-for-rmhc-ireland

Pieta – Know the Signs

In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day, Pieta House gave an informative talk to our team about suicide prevention.

The session provided vital insights into the risk factors and myths surrounding suicide, along with practical tips on how to recognise warning signs in those who may be struggling. Pieta also guided our team on how to offer support and encourage professional help for anyone in need.

We all play a role in supporting mental health and breaking the stigma, and we are proud to support Pieta in the vital work they do year-round.

Lighthouse Club Summer Lunch

Our team had the pleasure of attending the Lighthouse Club Construction Industry Charity Summer Lunch on Friday in the Mansion House, Dublin. This prestigious annual event brings together over 400 industry professionals to support mental health initiatives.

PJ Hegarty is a proud supporter of the Lighthouse Club which provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families. We look forward to welcoming the MakeItVisible team to our Waterfront site this Friday.
