PJ Hegarty secured the construction contract for one of Cork’s most renowned residential projects — the Willows gated development in Ballinlough. The project involved the construction of 56 high quality apartments, with basement car parking and 12 exclusive houses. The three-storey apartment block contained five different apartment types, ranging from one-beds to three-bed duplex apartments. The project also included associated site development works and a new serviced roadway.

LAURENCE SHOPPING CENTRE

This €45-million urban regeneration project in the heart of Drogheda comprises a town centre shopping mall, apartments, offices, a community hall, and a 19th century church restoration. The total size of this mixed development stands at 44,200 m², with the double mall housing 40 retail units over a two--storey basement car park. The design integrated new retail space into the historic walled town to provide residents with a modern shopping experience.

This project at Dundrum Town Centre retail park — Ireland’s largest shopping centre — involved the complete fit-out of a developer shell with a floor area measuring 11,500m² over 3 different levels. PJ Hegarty carried out the installation of all services within the retail space, from  level-connecting escalators to the full fit-out of the in-house Cafe Revive. Complete works included all mechanical, IT/data, security, and manual handling fittings, plus merchandising equipment, tills, fitting rooms, refrigeration units, architectural finishes and all other loose and fixed equipment. The only aspect not in our scope was the installation of the merchandise itself, which was the final touch carried out by M&S staff after our handover.

For this challenging project, PJ Hegarty demolished and made alterations to existing showrooms, and built new showrooms for car dealer Denis Mahony in North Park, Dublin. As well as a showroom, PJ Hegarty built a new sales area, service area, parts area, offices and new internal and external car parking.

The project consisted of the demolition of an existing building and construction of a new shell and core data centre building in one 2 -storey block and the fit-out of the same (8,657m²). Siteworks included underground utilities / services, new surface car parking, new boundary structures and roads.

The construction of a new shell and core data centre building in one single storey block and the fit-out of the same  in 10 phases / halls. Overall GFA of c. 20,450m² Siteworks included underground utilities / services, new surface car parking, new boundary structures, roads and carriageways including car parking and truck loading / unloading and new generator compound, sub-station, security and associated works. Additional works include 220kV GIS Substation to include 1.8km of underground 220kV ducting and cabling along with Sub-station building, transformers and client control building. Project currently ongoing.

SHIRE BIOLOGICS MANUFACTURING CAMPUS

PJ Hegarty led the construction of multinational pharma company Shire’s new state-of-the-art biologics manufacturing campus in County Meath. The project on the 120-acre site involved extensive enabling works, base build and fit-out of the facility for Shire (now Takeda). The new campus at Piercetown includes a new warehouse, laboratory, administration, canteen and manufacturing building.

PJ Hegarty has a strong professional relationship with pharmaceutical company Merck, Sharpe & Dome, which produces vaccines and cancer medication for markets worldwide.
