Spencer Place South

Salesforce sign lease on a new campus in Dublin North Docklands.

The software company has agreed to occupy 430,000 SqFt at Spencer Place, with an option over a further 100,000 SqFt currently subject to planning. The scheme is being developed by the Ronan Group Real Estate (RGRE) and Colony Capital. The letting is the country’s largest in history.

The development will also include a 200 bedroom, four star hotel which has been leased by RGRE to the Dalata Hotel Group on a 35 year agreement.

P.J. Hegarty & Sons U.C. are the main contractor for the project and have been on- site for several months undertaking enabling, piling and basement prepartion works. We are currently working on the concrete superstructure.

ICE Awards 2019 Finalists

PJ. Hegarty  & Sons U.C. are delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists in three categories for the ICE Awards 2019. The categories are-

  • Commercial over €10m (Project: No. 10 Molesworth Street )
  • Construction Project Manager (Candidate: Mr. John Gavigan )
  • Health, Safety & Wellbeing (Initiative: Incident & Injury free site with no adverse environmental impact)

Building & Architect of the Year Awards 2018

Congratulations to IPUT plc and Henry J Lyons on their success at the Building and Architect of the Year Awards 2018. Their project at No.10 Molesworth Street won the ‘Building of the Year – Large Office’ Award at the gala ceremony held in the Mansion House last night.

P.J. Hegarty & Sons U.C. were the main contractor on this prestigious office development which was completed earlier this year.

Haulbowline Project Milestone

Recently there was a significant milestone on the Haulbowline Island East Tip Remediation project as the last section of liner material was laid, capping the island off and making it safe.

The project is the design & build of the remediation & capping of the former Haulbowline East Tip site including metal recovery, perimeter engineered structure, slag processing, site re-profiling, capping and landscaping. The new public green space will include playing pitches, walking/jogging circuit, picnic areas, viewing points and a car park.

LEED Platinum for 10 Molesworth Street

The recently completed new office development at 10 Molesworth Street has achieved LEED Platinum Certification.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. The Platinum certification is the highest classification that can be achieved.

PJ Hegarty & Sons U.C. were the main contractor on this project.

New Regional Directors appointed at P.J. Hegarty & Sons

New Regional Directors  – P.J. Hegarty & Sons would like to announce the appointment of three new Regional Directors with Barry Casey in the Cork office and David Casey & Eoin Flanagan in the Dublin office.

Barry, Dave and Eoin are all long serving contracts managers with the company and have been promoted to Contracts Directors.

We would like to congratulate our colleagues on their new appointments within the company.

ICE Awards 2018 – Winner: No.40 Molesworth Street

Congratulations to the project team of the No.40 Moleswoth Street office project which won the Refurbishment / Retrofit / Fit Out Award at the  Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards, held at The Mansion House, Dublin on 23rd March 2018.

PJ Hegarty & Sons have had three projects shortlisted for the ICE Awards 2018, they are –

  • Mallinckrodt Pharmaceutical, West Dublin (Industrial [over €10m] Category)
  • ‘GPO Witness History’, Dublin 1 (Public or Heritage Building Category)
  • 40 Molesworth Street, Office Refurbishment – Dublin 2 (Refurbishment / Retrofit / Fit Out Category)

We would like to congratulate the construction teams involved with these projects and look forward to the Gala Event on the 23rd March at the Mansion House, Dublin when the winners will be announced.
