In 2010, PJ Hegarty completed an €18.5 million project to build a new corporate headquarters for McCormick Macnaughton Limited, who at the time were the sole distributor in Ireland of Caterpillar construction equipment, marine, and power generation products. The development was built on a six-acre site at the entrance to the Aerodrome Business Park in Rathcoole, Co Dublin.

The 9,600 m² development consists of a number of connected blocks covering all aspects of Caterpillar’s operations in Ireland. This included facilities for the distribution and service of heavy earthmoving equipment and equipment washing, as well as storage for parts, including a basement facility for plant storage. The HQ also incorporates a two-storey office block.

The modern development comprises a structural steel frame with composite cladding and roofing panels, with steel fibre-reinforced ground slabs. The campus also features precast floor slabs, concrete yard slabs, and the building was constructed using In-situ concrete. basement. The show area utilises a huge amount of natural light thanks to the planar glass exterior, while the office block was finished in curtain walling.
